Both Marc and Lisa were directors at London’s Roseberry’s auctioneers, a job that allowed them to indulge in the passion of collecting. The move to France has allowed them to continue working within the antiques trade but offered them more time with their daughter Tallulah. They bought Chateau Coye in a dilapidated state and have been renovating it over the last few years. This 17th century house has 10 bedrooms, set in 9 acres of fields in a wooded valley in the Chalosse region of south-west France. Marc with his regular TV appearances on the BBC Antiques Roadshow and Lisa with her online valuations. The opening of their newly renovated chateau for residential courses in antiques and painting allows guests to enjoy this remarkable chateau. Marc is cut out to be a hotelier-cum-teacher. He’s a convivial host, regaling guests with stories of his life as an auctioneer as well as many well-known visiting lecturers.
