Surrounded by extensive grounds and charming formal gardens this stylish Georgian home, dating back to 1750, takes centre stage and provides an idyllic setting for the family home of Maimuna Mascolo and her husband Christian, eldest son of the Toni and Guy family. Located in a quiet village in the Surrey Hills, the family moved here a year ago; entranced with the space, privacy and freedom it afforded them, their three younger sons and Muna’s older son, a guitar prodigy, following in the footsteps of his folk musician grandparents, Linda and Richard Thompson.
The period grandeur and restored architectural details of this sumptuous country home create a heightened sense of elegance; with the imposing marbled tiled entrance hallway and wood paneled drawing room, leading into a succession of calming spaces decorated in muted, tranquil tones and dressed with well chosen decorative antiques, alongside inspired contemporary touches.
With an inherent eye for detail and a love of unusual ‘out of the ordinary’ antiques, Muna is the joint founder of Mascolo Casadejus, a gorgeous new lifestyle and decorative home-ware online shop. Their design aesthetic –
‘retro glamour with a twist’ is reflective of the many French and Italian treasures sourced for the business and this look imbues the Mascolo family home with a covetable and seemingly effortless stylish energy.
